Katie and I eating chips on Aldeburgh beach
Last Wednesday my lovely sister Katie came to stay. She hasn't visited since we moved to Norwich. Last time she visited we lived in a grotty flat in Great Yarmouth which I rarely ventured out of. So this time she got to stay in our little spare room in our lovely, not so new, home.
The weather was amazing the whole time she was here and we sure made the most of it. We took a trip back in time and re-lived childhood memories, we bargain hunted in local car boot sales, we visited the zoo, ate chips on the beach, picked raspberries in the sunshine, made yummy treats and had loads of fun!
When I was about 9 and my sister 5 our dad moved to work in a place called Welney for the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. I remember us visiting him and being amazed by how flat the land was and how remote the area was. We used to spend our days playing in the visitor centre and pond dipping. Sadly, the original visitor centre is no longer there and has been replaced by a very snazzy new one. Dad's house is still where it was and we looked like very dodgy paparazzi, driving up outside, quickly taking a photo and driving off again.
After visiting Welney we took a road trip up around the Norfolk coast. It was sooooo hot. All weekend the temperature gauge in my car was hovering around 32 degrees. So the windows were rolled down while we sang along to Disney numbers at the top of our voices. We stopped at various places along the coast and ended up at Sheringham where the two pence arcade machines kept us entertained for hours. We must have spent about £3 trying to win these rubbish toys.
We went to two car boot sales while Katie was here. Although we didn't have any luck in the second car boot sale I found quite a few goodies at the first one.
I also grabbed some DVDs for just a £1 each and a book for 20p. I forgot how great car boot sales are!!
We also made the most of the fruit picking season and stopped at the cutest little farm shop and picked some raspberries.

Unfortunately my sis was using her camera at the zoo. I just took one of the meerkats who were very tame, I think people must throw food into their pen.

We both had a great few days. It was really lovely to spend some time with Katie. We live so far apart that we don't get to see each other all that often.
Thanks Katie I had loads of fun!
That pink lemonade looks amazing, what do you do to make it?
