Whenever I sit down to blog I need a cup of tea. The Penguin mug is perfect for writers and readers alike and there is a huge variety of classic book titles to choose from.
I like to physically write, you know, with a pen; including when I try to organise my life. When I got my job my first purchase was my Filofax. Yes it is leather, and yes it was expensive. But considering I take it everywhere with me and have had it nearly three years, it is still in excellent condition. Definitely an investment.
There is nothing worse than bad lighting when it comes to working on my computer, but I hate brightly lit rooms. A desk lamp is perfect, as I feel like I'm in a cosy library in my only little private nook, without comprimising my already awful eyesight.
I currently type away on a, frankly shit, laptop. An Apple iMac would be my dream computer. Best start saving then as at the moment, dream seems to be the operative word.
I love writing my blog. Not only is it a great place for me to actually do some writing, but it acts as a great diary. I don't have time to write long entries into a journal every night, but one line a day? I think I could manage that.
I am a very messy person, what can I say? It drives Ben insane. A desk tidy would be a good idea.
A notebook is a must for me. If I suddenly feel inspired, I need to write it down. Whether that's something I need to buy from the supermarket, a book I've read a review for, or a blog post idea, a notebook and pen can always be found in my bag.
If you don't do computers (though I expect if you're reading my blog you may do) then this beautiful country writing desk is for you. I'm currently doing up a second hand writing desk that I bought, it won't be as elegant or as large as this one, but then again it won't be as expensive either!
If you've got some last minute Christmas shopping to do I hope my list has given you some ideas. Come back later in the week for my Christmas present ideas for book fans and hand made lovers.

I like the lamp and the mug to go with a new computer. Hope your wishes come true for the new year.
